Speedo SwimSquads are facilitating the following CPD courses in the next term, to be held at The English College Dubai.
1 ) Wednesday 18th May. 6-9pm
ASA Continued Professional Development.- Developing Butterfly. Moving butterfly from teaching level to coaching level. Technique, drills, teaching points including Video clips and practical demonstration with swimmers.
Applicants should hold a swim teaching qualification or be a PE teacher involved with school swimming. Maximum of 25 places on this course . Tutor- Mr.Malcolm Sumner – experienced Tutor, coach and teacher joining us from the UK to run this course.
Cost – Including registration with the ASA – Dh275.
2) Thursday 19th May 5.30-5.45pm (Registration) 6 - 9pm (Course)
UKCC Safeguarding and Protecting Children. (This course is renewable every 3 years and is mandatory for holding a teaching license for sport in the UK. Our last course was February 2008)
Applicants will be involved in teaching/coaching children in a variety of sports or activities, including classroom. Maximum of 20 places in this course. Tutor- Mr. Malcolm Sumner. Malcolm ran this course for us in 2008 and he is joining us from the UK to run it again.
Cost - Including resource book and registration. - Dh300. If you have the resource book already please let me know and we will not order for you, please remit Dh250 in this case.
3)Friday June 3rd. 9-11am
Teaching Masterclass. Tackling Breastroke. Aimed at giving teachers tools to correct poor breastroke technique at the improvement level; moving breastroke on to early coaching. Tutor – Lesley Murray ASA Tutor and Swim Director with Speedo SwimSquads.
Cost- Dh150 Certificate of attendance from Speedo SwimSquads. Not ASA registered.
Applicants are invited to give their input into content to be covered and suggestions for future CPD's.
